Purpose of Role
Advancements in computing power have made it possible to digitize a wide range of R&D activities. Digitization has the potential to dramatically reduce costs and create step change reductions in time to market. This role will lead a Modeling and Simulation COE to transform the capability in this area with the target of using modeling and simulation to significantly reduce time to market and improve costs. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead critical capability program for Global RDQI that delivers step change in cost and speed to market improvement
  • Develop RDQI Digitization and investment strategy with milestones and KPIs
  • Work with RDQI LT (Category Vice-Presidents) to build effective strategy and resourcing plan
  • Build/hire necessary staff and screen/build external partnerships to complement internal skills
  • Identify lead opportunities, successful execute and utilize success stories to build momentum.
  • Significantly expand the internal modeling and simulation capability to execute the strategy.
  • Build curriculum required to build broad RDQI awareness of the power of digital methods to reduce development costs and create speed to market.
  • Align RDQ efforts with other internal stakeholders (IT, ISC) 

Career Experiences Required & Role Implications


• 5-10 years’ experience in modelling and simulation
• Experience in transforming R&D work from physical experiments to modelling and simulation 
• 10 years of managing people
• Technical degree in mathematics, sciences or engineering
• Experience in development preferred


Salary:  £130k - £150k base + great benefits
